An exciting new technology is now available to cell phone users who complain of loosing cell phone signal strength when in their home. Research indicates that over 35% of all wireless users suffer cell phone signal strength loss when using a cell phone in their home or office. To solve this problem, a product called The Wireless Extender, will amplify the cell phone signal improving wireless coverage up to a 2,500 sq foot area within the home.

The Wireless Extender product consists of a small antenna (about 8 inches long) that mounts on the roof or in the attic. An RG6 coaxial cable is run to a central point in the home where the actual Wireless Extender base unit resides. The Wireless Extender base unit is the component that amplifies the signal. The customer will receive an amplified cell phone signal in a circular area extending about 2,500 sq ft from the base unit. The farther you are away from the base unit, the weaker the signal. The base could be placed in the family room, the basement, an office, a bedroom, a home office or a central location. Square footage coverage will vary depending on the original cell phone signal strength outside the residence and type of building construction and wall construction inside the home.

The Wireless Extenders unit will work only in the PCS frequency range (1850 – 1900 MHz)

Most of the wireless phones in use today are in the PCS frequency. It does not work with the iDEN (Nextel) service or the cellular (824 – 896 MHz) providers. Units will be available shortly for these frequency ranges. Some wireless service providers are PCS only while others will operate in the cellular and PCS frequencies. This varies from city to city.

Your service provider will need to offer service in the 1900 MHz PCS band for use with the Wireless Extender unit. To be absolutely certain, please check with your cell phone service provider’s customer service department.

The Wireless Extender will not help your WIFI service. This unit is designed to work with wireless PCS phones and devices. The WIFI in your home or office uses a different frequency.
